Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a fantastic start to the year and it has been lovely to hear students catching up and reconnecting with each other after the holiday break.

This week our Kindergarten students will be completing their Best Start assessments. Best Start allows us to gain an understanding of a students literacy and numeracy skills upon the commencement of kindergarten. This allows us to plan specifically for the targeted learning needs of individual students at the beginning of kindergarten.

Last week our teachers were invited to attend the inaugural Western Conference held in Narrabri on Thursday and Friday. This conference provided our teachers with the opportunity to engage with strategies to assist in enhanced teaching and learning as well as developing whole school approaches to student wellbeing.

The classroom structure for 2023 will be as follows:

K-2: Mrs Kath Baird, Miss Tahlia Morrissey, Mrs Shelley Roseby and Mrs Sharon Mitchell.

3-6: Mrs Katie Goddard, Mrs Shelley Roseby, Mrs Kath Fenton, Mrs Jenny Darley and Mrs Leah Rees.

Mrs Cheryl Fenton will join our team this year as our Release from Face to Face (RFF) and will work across both K-2 and 3-6. 

We will be hosting our Parent Information Night/ PTF AGM on Tuesday 14 February at 5:30pm. During the information session we will discuss ways to help your child navigate 2023 and welcome all parents to stay for the PTF AGM.

Advertising for our 2023 transition program has commenced. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child for 2024 and participate in the transition program this year, please let me know. Program details and enrolment forms are available by contacting Ms Traynor in the Office.

If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten or any other year group for 2023, please encourage them to contact me at school. 

*** Happy birthday to Rose who celebrated her 11th birthday  last Friday and to Jacob C who turned 10 years old today. We hope you both had a great day!
