Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours !

It has been a fabulous few weeks of learning and engagement in Grade 3/4.

During Maths we are extending our understanding of place value through lots of experience with hands on materials, such as MAB. Here are some students from 3/4D constructing some towers and investigating their value.

As part of our Literacy program we have been heavily immersed in persuasive writing and what better way to get our ideas flowing, than trying to convince Mrs Worsam to get slimed at our school Colour Run! Here are two fabulous writing samples from Lydia N and Alex S from 3/4E.

We are continuing to develop our Emotional Literacy as well as facilitating empathy and kindness in 3/4 as part of our Respectful Relationship program. Last week we explored different personal strengths in small groups and then 'attempted' to act out these for our classmates to identify. 3/4E also enjoyed an activity where they considered the power of words and how these can easily hurt and offend. They really enjoyed the process of creating colourful hearts and cringeling them to symbolise the pain that can be caused. Students then chose to write positive messages of things we can say to lift people's spirits.
