AROUND THE SCHOOL

We are never alone in sharing the faith, because it is the Lord with me who transmits the faith, and Jesus promised: “I will be with you every day until the end of the world.”

SWIMMING NEWS

3-6 SWIMMING PROGRAM

PYJAMA DAY AT SPLASH - Tomorrow, Thursday 9th is Water Safety Day

Students will wear their Pajamas over their bathers for this lesson. This will provide children with an opportunity to develop and build on their water safety and survival skills as well as raise awareness of the importance of being safe in, on and around water.

During Pajama day  will learn how to remain safe and be prepared in the water while wearing clothes; this will provide a learning experience that will guide students on the difficulties they may face if they fall into the water with clothes on. This is an important life skill to learn as a large majority of drowning’s that occur around water are unexpected and happen while individuals are dressed.

Students will learn how to return to the edge of the pool safely, float, tread water or safely remove their clothes if necessary. Throughout the week students will have the opportunity to participate in activities including; open water scenarios, life jackets and boat safety, aquatic rescues and personal survival skills.

DIVISION SWIMMING

The Division swimming carnival was held in Korumburra on Friday 24th February in quite warm conditions.

What a fantastic effort on our team's part.  Everyone competed well and their sportsmanship showed through.  As a result of the day, some of our swimmers will go onto the next round, Regional Swimming, in Sale on March 16th.  Good luck to the students who are progressing to the next round.

Loving God, You are always with us, guiding us and loving us. We know you hear us when we pray, and you listen to us whenever we talk to you. Thank you. Help us remember to take time every day to talk to you. We know that getting ready for the mystery of Easter is big work. During this season, help us learn how to trust you, love you, and share your love with others! Thank you for being with our family as we travel together, preparing our hearts and minds to enter into the mystery of Easter. Bless us in our work. It’s in your holy name, we pray, Amen.
