Dance

Students will:

  • experience roles in dance 
  • respond to feedback in their art making. 
  • focus their attention on artworks presented and respond to artworks 
  • learn to be an audience for different arts experiences 
  • Explore  traditional and contemporary works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
  • Inquire about the relationships between People, Culture and Country/Place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. 

Learning intentions

  • To become aware of their bodies and learn about the body bases, parts and zones used in dance
  • To explore space, time, dynamics and relationships as they make and observe dances
  • To explore locomotor and non-locomotor movements.
  •  To be able to use fundamental movement skills in their own dance
  • To be able to experiment with simple technical and expressive skills
  • To be able to understand choreographic devices.
  • To be able to  organize movements in their own dances.
  •  

Drama 

Students will:

  • respond appropriately to feedback in their art making
  • focus their attention on artworks presented 
  • learn to be an audience for different arts experiences
  • Explore  traditional and contemporary works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
  • Inquire about the relationships between People, Culture and Country/Place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. 

Learning Intentions: 

  • To become aware of role and situation as they listen and respond as fictional characters
  • To be able to improvise
  • To explore voice and movement to create role
  • To be able to learn about focus and identifying the main idea of the drama
  • To learn how their ideas can be expressed through role and story.

Visual Arts

Students will:

 

  • describe artworks
  • Create artworks
  • Explain why artworks were made and presented
  • Express their ideas in different forms
  • Use their ideas, observations and imagination
  • Use different techniques and processes to create
  • Explore traditional and contemporary works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
  • Inquire about the relationships between People, Culture and Country/Place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Students will:

  • To be able to understand timbre and texture
  • To be able to explore sounds by listening and making music
  • To be able to discriminate between sounds and silence
  • To be able to move and perform with beat and tempo
  • To be able to listen as performers 
  • To be able to listen in an audience.

 

Media Arts

In Media Arts students will:

  • Experience the role of artist 
  • Respond to feedback in their art making.
  •  learn to focus their attention on artworks presented
  • respond to artworks appropriately. 

 

Learning intentions

  • To understand how to structure stories, intent, character and settings in ideas and stories
  • To be able to explore ideas
  •  To learn about composition, 
  • To be able to explore sound and technologies to construct stories
  • To be able to  communicate through selecting and organising the elements of media arts.

Digital Technologies

Students will:

  • Use iPads and Chromebooks to create books and slides to share with others.
  • Learn to do simple coding on the Chromebooks.

Learning Intentions:

  • I can work in teams and by myself to create and organise ideas and information to share with others.
  • I can describe and represent a sequence of steps to solve a problem.
