Respectful Relationships: Prep
This Term, the Prep’s have been learning about Emotional Literacy. We have learnt how to identify emotions, recognise what they look like and sound like in our own bodies, and in others. We practised showing emotions on our faces and then drawing them!
Harmony Day
On Monday 21st of March we celebrated Harmony Day at SGPS. Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It was about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Thank you to Frankie S, Cai L, Rhea S, Jess L and Nathan K. for speaking so eloquently at assembly. Students had a wonderful time participating in special classroom activities and also created a whole school “hand tree” art display. It was wonderful to see so many students dressed in orange or their cultural dress and the SRC is very appreciative of the gold coin donations received.
Student Voice in Action!
Thank-you to our SRC for running another successful Bat Tennis session today! It was clear everyone involved was having a great time and it was terrific to see the kids across all ages getting along so well. This is a real credit to the outstanding leaders we have on our SRC!
Upcoming SRC Event
The SRC would also like to support the work of our amazing school captain, Cai, who is donating his hair to ‘Hair with Heart’. We are running a Crazy Hair Day on Thursday 7th April (second last day of Term 1), to help Cai reach his target of $1,000.00. Kids can wear their hair as crazy as they like on the day and are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation to support this event. And if that wasn’t motivation enough, if Cai reaches his target two of our teachers, Mr Lidgett and Jacqui, will shave their heads in support!
