The Arrowsmith Program

The Arrowsmith Program at Oakleigh Grammar is now in its seventh year. Seven Years of Transforming lives. We welcome all new families and students to the Arrowsmith Program in 2022 and wish that together, we work as one to transform the lives of our students. Changing to a new school and program can be challenging. Whilst change can be confronting, the other side can be rewarding, exciting and an opportunity for new beginnings. To all families in the Arrowsmith program in 2022, best wishes for a successful school year. Barbara Arrowsmith-Young recently wrote the following about change.

Transitions and change are a constant in our lives and can often feel overwhelming and uncomfortable as we struggle to clearly see our path forward. Then one day, we are there on the other side and wonder why we worried about the uncertainty of change in the first place. I don't know about you, but I find this place very exciting, while also feeling calm and peaceful. This is what I call growth, and when facing changes, transitions, and uncertainty, I mindfully try to remember to embrace these uncomfortable emotions, as there are pleasant ones that are just on the other side. Each time we grow, we strengthen our brains, and this prepares us for the next challenge. No matter what you or your loved ones are trying to conquer today, I wish you compassion for both yourself and others.
