Interschool Debating 

The Dandenong C Grade debating team made their debut earlier this term, taking on Haileybury in the opening round of the Debaters Association of Victoria interschool competition. 

This year’s debaters are Una, Kushi and Hanin from E10, and Mahdiyeh from B10.

The topic for debate was “that we should boycott major sporting events held in countries with poor human rights records.” Dandenong took the affirmative position, and all students who spoke on the night did an outstanding job. The next round of debating is scheduled for early in Term Two, when the team will have an hour before their debate to prepare their arguments as a team.
