Hakea House

Hello! My name is Julie, your Hakea House Captain along with Mohammad in 2022.

I have attended Dandenong High School ever since year 7. Some of my favourite things to do as my leisure activity is watching anime and listening to podcasts about true crime. I also enjoy art and being creative, so my favourite subjects at Dandenong High School were visual communication, 3D Art and dance.

Throughout my journey at DHS, I've met so many different people and have made so many meaningful connections with students and teachers. This year, I really want to get the House spirit up, especially after many lockdowns. I kind of lost the connection with my House since everyone was learning online and there weren’t many activities running. So for this year, I want to make Hakea House a place where every student can feel at home and safe space where they are comfortable to speak up and be themselves.

Term 1 has been really special for me since we could actually be back at school. It was so great to experience this again. Working with the SRCs in Hakea has also been a great pleasure and I look forward to being in a team that can lead Hakea House together in 2022.

Thank you!

I am Mohammad, Hakea’s House Captain. Let me begin by me telling you a little bit about myself. I am the oldest of 5 kids, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, driving and helping people.

Things that I will hope to achieve this year are to organise some exciting activities for everyone to enjoy, which will help in the process of reconnecting students back to school and to each other. An idea I had was casual Friday once a month and to organise and host sport competitions.
