Greetings from Shaun

Meet the Teacher

A great big thank-you to all the teachers, students, parents and families who made these sessions an outright success. Coordinating an event like this in a school is not an easy task and thanks to the collaborative efforts and can-do attitude of everyone involved, it was a really useful experience. It is such a pivotal opportunity for teachers to connect with families and for families to connect the learning with home. I managed to make my way around at different times across the afternoon and it was great to see and hear the rich conversations about students and their learning.

Tutor Learning Update

As you know, the Victorian Government has committed to continuing the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) into 2022. This initiative has been designed to address the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on student learning and engagement in Victoria. This is fantastic news for us as a school to increase the individualised support for students and their learning already provided by teachers in the classroom.

As you may be aware, Niki, our previous tutor, announced her retirement at the end of the last school year. Therefore we are currently engaged in a process of appointing a new tutor to the position. I can assure you we are working through this process as quickly as possible. I know many families are keenly awaiting the program’s commencement and so I appreciate your patience and understanding. I will provide you with more information about start dates when it is available.

To speed up this process we are currently working to identify students for the TLI program, using the set DET criteria provided to us. Once again, we will provide information to families once we have more information.
