YEAR 12 PARENTS – PLEASE READ
Careers information that is specific to Year 12 students will NOT normally appear in the College newsletter.
Year 12 students will receive a more detailed careers newsletter via email. This newsletter will contain up to date information regarding careers, job opportunities, internships, open days, universities, gap years, early entry, bonus points, scholarships and much more. Year 12 parents can subscribe to this email by emailing me at oconnellr1@ww.catholic.edu.au
and asking to be added to the mailing list. It is essential that Year 12 students check their emails at least once a week and read the careers newsletter. I would recommend all Year 12 parents to subscribe to this newsletter.
BUILD A BRIDGE – ENGINEERING CAMP
Applications are now being taken for this highly successful 3 day camp for students interested in Civil Engineering. This camp is aimed at Year 10 - 12 students. The Build a Bridge & get over it! Engineering Camp is an ideal opportunity for students to experience the real world of Civil Engineering with experiential learning and working with industry mentors from REROC, IPWEA (NSW Division), NSW Roads and Maritime Services. For this camp, students must display an aptitude in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Design and Technology. This camp is run by industry experts and it gives participants an opportunity to participate in ‘hands on’ activities. I would strongly encourage any student interested in Civil Engineering to attend this camp.
All applications must be returned to school by Friday 20 June, 2014. Selection for this camp will be by a competitive application process. Numbers are limited, so students are encouraged to get applications in as early as possible.
Application forms are available at the careers office.
