School Walk Through - Wednesday 16/03/2022

We are looking forward to welcoming our current school community to attend our school walk through. This will be our first opportunity in two years to share our classrooms, and provide an opportunity for parents to view the learning that takes place across the school.

We do need to remind parents that COVID restrictions will be in place during the school walk through. Visitors, including parents must wear a face mask and be able to provide a digital or paper copy of proof of vaccination status upon request.

Below is a timetable for next Wednesday’s Classroom Walkthrough. We are really excited to have you back in the classroom so we can share our learning with you.

Voluntary contributions

We would like to thank those families who have paid their voluntary contributions of $280 this term. We understand that the payment is completely voluntary and families are entitled to make a choice to do so or not.

As a government school we are very proud of the programs we provide to all the students at Newlands. The voluntary contributions allow us to fund the extra curricular programs where we employ Specialist teachers as such as Performing Arts - Music teacher and a Performing Arts teacher for Dance & Drama - areas of the curriculum we have been very committed to over many years. This year we have employed a Specialist teacher for STEAM, a fantastic opportunity to enrich the learning of our students. Another commitment in providing our students with opportunities to engage their curiosity and make connections to all elements of the Newlands curriculum.

We are also committed to providing low classroom numbers so our bilingual Spanish/English teaching teams can maximise student engagement, a formula to support student success in language acquisition.

To provide the funding for these very worthy and we believe extremely valuable programs your voluntary contributions is very important and assists us to off set the costs incurred by the school.

We hope our community appreciates that while your contributions are voluntary we do really need your financial support to continue to offer the breath of educational experiences to all students.
