Continuous reporting in the Senior School

This year we are transitioning to a model of ‘continuous reporting’. This model of reporting will provide parents/carers and students with regular teacher feedback via Shelly. In these final weeks of Term 1, you will begin to see notifications of ‘Due work’ that your child is completing in class. Some of these tasks are known as Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) and School Assessed Coursework (SACs) and School Assessed Tasks (SATs). When a task has been assessed, you will be able to access the teachers’ comments and your child’s level of achievement.

For Health and Physical Education and some Music tasks a Practical Scale of Achievement will be applied in lieu of a grade.

The achievement levels used for these tasks are as follows:

  • Beginning: Your child shows an initial competence in the skills required in the activity.
  • Consolidating: Your child is developing her competency in the skills required in the activity.
  • Established: Your child achieved competency in the skills required in the activity.
  • Proficient: Your child demonstrates a very high level of competency in the skills required in the activity.

Another important aspect of continuous reporting are the Parent Teacher Conferences. The first of these will be held at the School for:

  • Years 10–12 on Thursday 7 April, 3.30–8.30pm
  • Years 7–9 on Thursday 28 April, 3.30–8.30pm

As in previous years, Victorian Curriculum standards of achievement will be provided in the end of semester reports.
