"Giinagay (How are you?)

My name is Tamara I am a new Koorie Engagement Support Officer in the Western Melbourne team, and I will be working with your child’s school. I am a proud Yaegl/Gumbaynggirr woman from Maclean NSW, but I have been living in Melbourne for the past 12 years.

I will be working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families by supporting engagement in education, promoting positive outcomes and instilling pride in students’ cultural identity. I will also support the whole school community in the celebration and learning of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and work to create more culturally inclusive learning environments.

I can support with (but not limited to):

  • Education Support
  • Careers and Pathways
  • Support Liaising with your School
  • Individual Education Plans (IEP)
  • Student Support Group Meetings (SSG)
  • Re-engagement into School or Alternative Pathways
