Welcome new staff

Stephanie Gardiner

Stephanie Gardiner is in her first year of taching.  Ms Gardiner says that St Helena left a great first impression on her through the range of opportunities the school provides for students, staff and members of the community to get involved in. She is also impressed by the community spirit around the school that she says is very evident as everyone is extremely supportive of one another.  Ms Gardiner became a teacher because she wanted to support the next generation of young learners to become enthusiastic about their learning and to provide opportunities for students to further develop their passions and interests towards the subjects that she teaches. She also became a teacher because she believes that every student has the ability to achieve and accomplish their goals if given the right tools.   She wants to support every student in developing life-long skills that will help them to achieve anything that they set their minds to.  Before Ms Gardiner became a teacher, she was a professional dancer who danced professionally in Australia as well as internationally for companies in Japan and France. Her favourite dance styles to teach are jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop.  Ms Gardiner teaches … wait for … dance!  Welcome to St Helena.

Stuart Cameron

Stuart Cameron spent the last 3 years teaching at Montmorency SC but was at St Helena for 3 years prior to that, and before that at Whittlesea SC and Victoria University. It’s great to  have him back home!  Mr Cameron says the staff are as busy and friendly as he remembers them, and the students are well mannered.  He chose teaching as a profession because he always enjoyed training the carpentry apprentices he had working for him, and it was a natural progression.   In his spare time Mr Cameron is restoring a 1955 Studebaker from boxes of parts.  Maybe we should recruit him to teach automotive as well as technology and VET Building and Construction!!

Molly Dawson

Molly Dawson has previously taught at Brentwood Secondary College.  She finds our staff supportive and our students amazing! She became a teacher because she loves working with young people and helping them realise their full potential. An avid tourist, she has toured 29 countries.  We hope you stick around for a while Ms Dawson before taking off for more exotic locations!  Ms Dawson teaches Psychology, Science and Humanities.
