CAREERS DAY OUT
On Tuesday 30th April students from Year 10 and VCAL will have the opportunity to attend the Careers Day Out at the Shepparton Showgrounds. Students have the opportunity to meet with, and talk to exhibitors, attend panel sessions and participate in workshops. Feedback from students who have attended in past years has been very positive.
The college regards this as an important resource for students in their career pathway research and planning, and their educational studies. More information will be provided regarding this opportunity in the near future.
Students will attend this event during Period 1 to 3 at the Shepparton Showgrounds MacIntosh Centre.
Students have received information regarding this event. Please complete the Indemnity Form and return to the College by Wednesday 24th April.
GV RURAL HEALTH CAREERS DAY
Students in Year 10 are invited to apply for an opportunity to attend an annual health career event that showcases a diverse range of health careers, the education pathways available and local career opportunities.
When: Thursday, 30th May 2019
Where: Goulburn Valley Health and University of Melbourne, Shepparton
Time: 9.30am - 2.15pm [TBC]
What will the day provide for you?
- ‘Interactive’ hands on experience in a health career of interest
- All students attend four different interactive sessions to experience some amazing health careers
- An opportunity to speak directly to health professionals about their profession, education journey and work experience
- An opportunity to obtain valuable information about various education pathways through; VETiS, SBATS, TAFE and University
Why would you participate in the experience?
- Explore the possibilities of a many health related careers
- Experience hands on workshops ie. midwifery workshop offers students an opportunity to deliver a baby using a simulation mannequin
- Meet health professionals who work in the health industry
- Learn about pathways into the health industry
- Discover the vast array of health career opportunities that exist in our YOUR local area
What should you do if interested in attending?
You will need to see Mrs O’Bree in C12 to put in an expression of interest.

LA TROBE UNIVERSITY - Experience uni for a day La Trobe University is inviting Year 10, 11 and 12 students to come along to their Experience Clever workshops. This a great way for students to explore the university campuses and find out what it’s like to study at La Trobe.
Students will have a chance to chat with lecturers, see the facilities and discover more about the study areas they’re interested in.
Spots tend to fill up quickly though, so students are encouraged to register early.

CHARLES STURT UNIVERSITY – EXPLORE DAY
Bookings are still open for our first ever Explore Day! This exciting new event gives your students the chance to experience life at Charles Sturt University (CSU).
A day of discovery - At Explore Day, students in Years 10–12 can choose from a range of dynamic workshops in lots of different study areas, introducing them to real academics and classroom environments.
With campus tours, free catering and prizes all part of the event, Explore Day is not to be missed. And going behind the scenes on a university campus with current CSU students and staff is a great way to build students’ confidence.
