Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

By now, you should be aware of the plans announced by the Minister of Education on Thursday the 28th of March for 2020 and 2021, as we transition to Greater Shepparton College (Interim Name). At this stage, we hope that the new buildings on the current Shepparton High School Site will be ready for the 2022 school year, but if that is not the case, we will inform you of any further transition arrangements should the need arise. The new entity (single school 3 campuses for 2010/21) comes into being on 01/01/2019.

The following information explains where our current Year 7-11 students and the Grade 6 students across Greater Shepparton will be located in 2020 and 2021. As stated above we hope that all students will be in the new school in Hawdon Street in 2022.

All current Grade 6 students will be located at the McGuire Campus in 2020 and 2021.

Parent Teacher Conferences

It has been very pleasing to see the large number of parents (and students) who attended our Parent- Teacher conferences this week. The two way feedback is essential, to help our students to achieve their best. Thank you to all involved.

Debutante Ball

Last Friday, the 34th Mooroopna Secondary College Debutante Ball was held at the Goulburn Valley Hotel. It was a wonderful night and it was fantastic to see the dance floor was full all night. A huge thank you to all involved, in particular Ms Bentley, Mrs O’Bree, Ms Elliott and Mr McConnell and his photography team. A great night was had by all.

Shepparton  Statement

Recently Jessica Eldred and Sterling McKenzie of Year 11, attended Eastbank as guests of the City of Greater Shepparton, and met Bob Geldof who was speaking about Climate Change. Jess and Sterling indicated that it was a stimulating evening that provoked thought about the future of the planet.

Thank you to all the teachers, support and admin staff for another hard working term. To the students, it was encouraging to see the efforts being made. I wish all of you a restful break, and look forward to seeing you all next term.
