Senior School

End of term 1

The students in Senior School have had a wonderful start to the school year.  They all have deserved a well earned break for what promises to be a super busy term 2!  Highlights for the  next term include: Inter-School Sport, Naplan for the Year 5s, Night of the Notables, Lady Northcote Camp in May, as well as an excursion which will be based on the Inquiry topic which will be 'Asian Studies'.  A huge thanks to all those parent helpers who have given up their time to volunteer in Kitchen and Garden, at Inter-School Sport, class reps, as well as all of the general help that so many parents in Senior School offer. We would like to wish everyone a happy Easter, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in term 2.

Deakin Science

For the past two weeks, pre-service teachers from Deakin University, have been running science activities as part of their course. This program has run at Weeden Heights for a number of years, and it have been very pleasing to see the enthusiasm that students share, and how engaged they are! Deakin students will return later in the year.

Leadership

The Year 6's have been busy finalising their lunchtime activities that they will be conducting with the rest of the students throughout the school. There are a range of activities that have been planned, with many of them our school leaders, wishing to pass on a skill or their knowledge to teach others. This week, our Library Captains - Zahir and Nicolas will be running Book Club on Thursday at lunch. Last week, WIlliam, Emilio and Jamieson organised lunchtime activities on the basketball court which was very well received and supported.
