Year 5/6 News

A Busy Last few weeks....

ANZAC Day

As we near the end of the first term, students will be focusing their learning on ANZAC Day. They will be practising and performing the Redgum song, 'I was Only Nineteen' at the ceremony which will be held on Friday April 24th. They will also be writing an ANZAC poem which some students will be selected to read at the ceremony.

A note went home this week about the ANZAC Day bike ride on Friday May 1, in which all students in Years Five and Six participate. Please return the permission note as soon as possible. The route the ride takes is also printed on the back for your reference. Students will be accompanied by two support vehicles. Any questions regarding this activity can be directed to Miss Johnstone.

School Production Audition Process

Auditions for main cast are taking place this week.  There are many, many students auditioning, which is fabulous to see. Please support your child to use strategies to deal with disappointment if they are unsuccessful in obtaining their desired role.  We will be focusing on developing resilience here at school over the next week or so.
