I hope each and every student enjoyed celebrating National Science Week. I was genuinely moved by the level of student excitement, learning, and how appreciative the students were to receive their Science Toy boxes.
The school theme for National Science Week 2021 has just been announced and it will be Food: Different by Design. It will honor the United Nations International Year of Fruits and Vegetables and the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
Food: Different by Design will cover a broad range of areas in food production and sustainable agriculture, enabling students to explore topics such as biosecurity, food technology and laboratory-developed foods. Scientific development will be at the core to the theme, with other hands-on projects for students to explore.
Created for Australians who might be struggling with the current lockdown or those simply seeking a mindful exercise, Sea Life Melbourne has created Marine Mindfulness meditations that aim to encourage relaxation and calm with peaceful and mesmerizing content.
According to multiple studies – including a 2019 study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health – observing live fish in an aquarium decreases anxiety, enhances relaxation and improves one’s mood. Please see links below and share these with you children.
2. Oceanarium Meditation:
Biotechnologist:
Biotechnologists study plants, animals and microorganisms to develop uses for biological; processes and create products for pharmaceutical, agricultural, diagnostic and environmental use, and advance industrial processes. They use small molecule technologies, nanotechnology, bioinformatics and synthetic biology.
Please see the image below, celebrating the Science Supernova Award Recipients for Term 3 Week 5. A big congratulations to all students for a wonderful week of science learning!
