Socktober

We are very excited to be participating in Socktober this year and helping our students to Sock it to Poverty!
We need your help! We’ll be kicking off our activities this week, so we invite all parents to register their children at the link below so they can be part of it:
https://www.socktober.org.au/fundraising/schools/kildare-catholic-college-wagga
Don’t forget to link your page to your child/ren’s school house team on the site.
Should you choose, please consider helping your child set a target and fundraise for vulnerable children to fulfill their basic needs. Once registered, students can ask their friends and families to sponsor them in tackling each week’s activities and kicking goals for kids around the world.
Below are some examples of what our sponsorship money can provide for children in Cambodia.
$30 can help purchase food, school uniforms and books for kindergarten children in Cambodia.
$75 can help towards purchasing sports equipment for children with disabilities in Cambodia.
$393 can go towards the costs of medical support and physiotherapy for children with disabilities in Cambodia.

We need your help! We’ll be kicking off our activities this week with the Year 10 SRC.
Do you have odd socks lying around? Old T-shirts, plastic bags, bubble wrap, tissue paper, string or twine?
Please bring them into your Homegroup Teacher or the office, so we can begin “Kicking Goals” with the sock balls we make!!

God our father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering;
may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
Amen
We wish all fathers a very happy Fathers Day.
Blessings,
Christine Savage | Leader of Mission
