Year 2/3UR Literacy

This week in Literacy, the students of grade 2/3 UR learnt about poetry and literary devices such as rhyme, rhythm, repetition and alliteration. Students received an introduction to a variety of poems like cinquains, haikus and acrostics. Students began the week by reading familiar poems about animals, with a focus on rhyming words. The students also began reading a new and exciting class Novel called Charlotte’s web by E.B. White. The children had an opportunity to make predictions of what would happen in the story. Students later began listening to the story on Google Classroom and responded to some comprehension questions to check their understanding. They had the opportunity to share their thoughts on the story during the Class Meets. For writing this week, students learnt about the parts of speech called verbs and watched some interesting videos on their use in writing sentences. Students then had to create their own unique sentences using the verbs. It was an exciting week back!
