Student Work

A collection of student work from this week at Staughton College

Year 9 Textiles

Students in the Year 9 textiles class were given 3 options for a practical task at home. They had to use materials and equipment they had available to them. Some students repurposed clothes, some knitted accessories and some created completely new products from scratch. Well done on all of your hard work and creativity!

Year 10 Legal Studies

Continuing on for Students were asked to choose a legal law or rule they felt was unfair for young people, and identify it from a legal point of view and challenge.  Some issues in these articles include discrimination, child detention,  compulsory schooling, and imprisonment.

Students were challenged to develop their critical thinking, logical reasoning and communication capabilities.  The article criteria is a minimum of 750 words, and builds on the learning in Term 2 of advocacy and the importance of young people speaking up for legal rights.

Students were required to draw upon their knowledge and understandings of the legal system and issues that affect young people, that we have learned about this year and present a picture of what might need to be changed or to challenge an issue.
