Return to School in Term 4

We are very pleased to announce that all students will return to face-to-face learning onsite at Numurkah Primary School for Term 4. Monday 5th October will be a Curriculum Day (Student Free Day) to allow staff to prepare for the return to onsite learning. All students will return Tuesday 6th October for normal classes. We look forward to seeing all our students upon their return and wish all our families a safe and relaxing holiday.

Thank you to all our families for their support during the Remote Learning. It has been so pleasing to see students engaging in their remote learning activities and sharing their successes with our school community through our Facebook group and Compass.

Transition

At this stage, with the COVID-19 restrictions easing across the regional areas, we are beginning to make arrangements to run our Kinder-Prep and Year 6-Year 7 Transition programs. The message from the Department is clear, “that all children across the state are in the same boat and requests for a second year in kindergarten or repeating Year 6 will be the exception, not the norm”. We will continue as we always do to cater for the individual needs of all our students and we will also continue to invest in our intervention and extension programs to give all students every opportunity to achieve their best.

We have arranged meetings with our local kindergartens to schedule kinder-prep transition sessions to commence early in Term 4. Arrangements are also being made to bring Year 6-Year 7 transition sessions to Numurkah Secondary College. Our teachers are working closely with NSC and St. Mary of the Angel’s Secondary College to support our students in their transition to their chosen secondary school.

From all the staff at Numurkah Primary School, we wish all our families a safe and relaxing school holidays and we very much look forward to having everyone back onsite again early next term.
