Summer Sports

Cricket

The  Woodend boys cricket  team played 4 games and won  1 lost 3. They lost by 8 runs against St Ambrose. The scores were 78 to 70. Then we played our ladies and unfortunately we lost although we did very well. The next game we played Kyneton. We did really well when we were bowling but when we batted we didn't do very well and got out a lot. The mixed team did well and won every game but in the grand final they lost by three runs.

Teeball

In Teeball the boys team played 8 games and we won 3 drew 1 and lost 4. We came 4th place out of 9 teams, but in the end of the day we played well and had a great time. We had some close games and had a lot of fun in Teeball. For the girls team, we tied 2 games, lost 3 and for the final game to see who would win fifth place out of 6 teams, we tied with Kyneton Primary; even though we didn’t win any games, we showed good sportsmanship and had fun!

Volleyball

The girls team did really well. They lost 3 games and won 4, over all the girls team came 2nd  out of 6. They had some hard competition and some difficult teams to verse, who showed bad sportsmanship but WPS  overcame that team.

On monday The mixed team played 7 games but sadly didn't win any. We were up against Romsey,Candlebark,Kyneton,St Ambrose, St Mary , Tylden and our lady. We had lots of fun and were very tired at the end of the day.

Monologues

On Tuesday the 3rd SU1 and SU2 got scripts for speeches to practice with a partner out in the yard. The reason for this is to boost our confidence in making speeches since in year 5 and 6 we have a lot of big jobs. Some of these jobs include speeches in front of assembly as well as other places. I think these speeches boosted a lot of people's confidence and I think everybody had a lot of fun.

Multiples & Factors

For the past week SU1 and SU2 were working on multiples and factors. We have had great fun playing games to do with multiples and factors. We have played factor bingo, multiples race and other fun games. It is really fun working with the other class in maths.  Now we know lots about factors and multiples and we did it in a really fun way.

LeanBoards

SU1 & SU2 have kindly been given 30 A3 sized boards to lean on when the two grades are working together. This has helped us in so many ways and ensures that our work is always neat. Thanks to Mr. Chamerski’s dad who supplied them for us.
