The life of Mabel Digby

In 2019, we have been featuring the stories of each of the School House Patrons.

In this final edition for the year we  learn more about Mabel Digby.

Mabel Digby was the fifth Superior General of the Society, the first non-French woman to hold this position. She led the Society at a time when the French government turned once again against the Church and ordered the closure of all convent schools in France, thus requiring Mabel to tackle the enormous task of reorganising the Society.
