Japanese

Konichiwa!! I’m Daichi!!

I arrived at Healesville High School on the 5th of February. HealesvilleHigh School is great because so many people say ‘hello’ to me, it’s especially great when people greet me in Japanese. I have really enjoyed talking to everyone about Japan and other things. I have also really enjoyed helping teach Japanese. I was surprised because students know more about Japan and Japanese than I thought they would. I am so happy to meet such great students.

This is a photo of myself helping Jinja who is preparing himself for 10 months in Japan.

Jinja leaves at the end of March. I wish him a fantastic time.

I am sad that I am only here for one month, my last day will be the 9th of March. Time has gone very fast. I hope to visit Healesville High School again someday.

Victorian Athletics Championships

Over Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February a very talented young student in Year 7 by the name of Sarah Ebbels competed in a number of events at the annual Victorian Athletics Championship, which were held at Albert Park in Melbourne.

Sarah competed in the Under 14’s in shot put and discus on the Saturday, followed by javelin and hammer throw on the Sunday.

Sarah represented herself outstandingly across the weekend, and achieved some fantastic results. These included coming 2nd in shot put, 4th in the hammer throw, 5th in javelin and 10th in discus.

We are very proud of Sarah’s success and wish her all the best in her future athletics career, as well as in our upcoming whole school Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 20th March! Well done!

IT News

Earlier in the year we introduced a new way to connect to the eduSTAR wireless network here at Healesville High School.  While we have been impressed by the take up of the offer there are still some more students that need to get their passwords changed.

We would particularly like to see students from Year 8 and Year 12. Having your password changed will allow you to download Microsoft Office 2016 free (You get five free copies per student enrolled at Healesville High School) so you can put it on your laptop, tablet, mobile phone or desktop computer.  All you need to do is have your password changed and use your new username and password to access the Microsoft site. If you would like to see Mark or James we would be more than happy to help you get started.
