Logan's Bogan Day
On Friday 10th May Warrnambool College embraced their inner bogan and enthusiastically supported Logan’s fundraising efforts for Food Share. The lunchtime food sale of pizza’s, snags and hot chocolate were all huge hits. The food was well suited to the cold and windy day and were sold out before the end of lunch. The generosity of the parents/guardians and students of Logan’s House enabled the traditional bake sale to a huge success once again. The enjoyment from eating a homemade cup cake or slice was audible from the student leaders as they took advantage of accessing early sales.
A special thanks go to the two staff members, Dave Clift and Kim Gration, who offered themselves up as targets for the ‘wet sponge’ throw activity. Nothing like seeing students pay money to hurl a wet sponge at a teacher! The pictures say it all.
The success of the day has to be attributed to firstly the families for donating the baked goods, the students for participating enthusiastically, the staff who supported us and the student leaders for showing true leadership in the planning and execution of the day. A final thank you goes to the family who donated the sausages and condiments for the BBQ.
Logans were able to raise a significant amount of money that will be donated directly to Food Share. The student leaders will be following this up with a Winter Food Drive, whereby we will be collecting canned and dry goods for donation to the Food Share warehouse stock.
