Careers Expo 2019 - Students, Parents, Guardians
Year 9, 10, 11 & 12
The Careers Expo is only conducted every 2 years and this is an important opportunity for you to research and explore a whole range of options. Attending the Expo will assist students to plan their Career Pathway and improve their understanding of what various jobs have to offer. In addition it will assist you to choose your subjects for next year as you will be better prepared.
The presenters for each of the career fields are recent graduates and are enthusiastic practitioners who will provide a comprehensive outline of their career pathway. They will focus the discussion on why they chose their career, what are the day to day tasks, what they love about their job and the not so good aspects of the job, what is required to get entry to the occupation and employment and promotional opportunities.
Students, Parents and Guardians of students in Year 9, 10, 11 & 12 are invited to attend the Careers Expo 19 at the following venues:
Mon 3 June at Brauer College,
Tues 4 June at Warrnambool College
Wed 5 June at Emmanuel College.
The program starts at 7:30 pm each night but you will need about 20 minutes to find a car park and walk into the schools.
You can attend up to 3 Presentations each night and choose from over 100 different careers over the 3 nights of the program.
Every year we receive very positive feedback from students and parents about the value of the program. Don't be the ones to miss out.
Program outlines and Booking Forms were distributed on Tuesday 14 May via the Tute Group (9:00 am).
Please complete the Booking Form and return it with your Name and Tute Group on top of each page.
Please return the Booking Form to your Tutor or the General Office by Tuesday 23 May.
We do this to ensure we have an even distribution of people attending each session and thus to ensure we have enough seats for everyone in each room.
To book a session - Just tick up to 3 different career fields on the left side of the page. You can attend 1 night or all 3 nights (as some people do) it’s up to you.
This year we also have a Special Trades Expo on Wed 5 June at Emmanuel College. This is organised in a supermarket type format. So come along and chat with all the main trades employers in Warrnambool and see what might suit you. Learn about the range of pathways, financial assistance and actual job vacancies. Check out the list on the Booking forms.
