Merri

A great start to term 2 has been had in Merri, with a new Tute competition sparking interest and conversation. Every Merri students attendance will be collated every 2 weeks. If you achieve 95% attendance, you get a merit, and the tute with the most students over 95% each fortnight gets a point to the tute cup, so there's a lot of points to be won! Remember, it’s not ok to be away. Congratulations to these students who have recorded an attendance of 100% over the last fortnight. Emily Nesbitt, Arhnya, Billinghurst, Hayley Carr, Frank Onthaisong and Jo Sycopoulis. On a similar vein, our current merit leaderboard sits with Will Bradley and Patrick Hewson at the top on 54, closely followed by Ella Johnstone on 50.

Intertute Wednesdays are back in full swing, with the passion and excitement of Merri students being lovely to witness. There has been a real buy in from the students with Wednesday mornings being a highlight of the tute week. M8 sit atop the leaderboard currently, with M6 lurking closely behind.

Currently, Merri students are completing a report reflection document, which asks them to consider what they are doing that is assisting their learning, and what could they do differently. There is also a column where teacher feedback and comments need to be sought, ensuring that all students can have an easy, outcome based discussion with their teachers.

Our Philanthropic day will be here before we know it, and we’d like to seek more student feedback regarding the theme for the day. Last year Winter Woolies was a hit, but we’d like to freshen it up! Because of this, students will be giving their ideas support in tute with a Merri Padlet being circulated to allow all students an opportunity to have their voice heard. This way our theme will have a good amount of student buy in, and we’ll be able to create a massive hype around it.

Keep up the good work Merri.
