AGFEST 2018

For a number of years now Friends’ has partnered with the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) and participated at Agfest alongside other boarding schools. This is a great environment to encourage families to gather information and seek out academic and boarding opportunities.

AgFest is an event that offers schools the chance to discuss future boarding and school opportunities first hand with parents and families.  Friends' will be participating again this year and we hope our families will stop by to say hello and support the School and our boarding students.

Kettering Piano Quartet Residency

We are thrilled to have the Kettering Piano Quartet in residency at The Friends’ School. Comprised of distinguished Hobart professional musicians, Emma McGrath, violin, William Newbery, viola, Brett Rutherford, cello, and Jennifer Marten-Smith, piano, the Quartet performs regularly in Tasmania, showcasing seldom-performed chamber repertoire.

Friends’ Music students have the privilege of working closely with the Quartet in classes, open rehearsals and a masterclass. Friends’ students can also attend the Quartet’s concerts in The Farrall Centre free of charge. The Quartet recently held its first public performance at the School. The next performance will take place Sunday 23 September at 2pm.

The Quartet’s presence at The Friends’ School is a wonderful opportunity for Friends' students and the broader School community.
