Year 2/3/4 update

This week in the Brolga Room

In Numeracy grade 2/3/4 have been learning how to tell the time. Mrs Bolch has had us investigating analogue, digital and 24 hour time. We have done loads of exciting activities involving computers, games, puzzles and calendars.

During Inquiry time we have had the opportunity to teach a small group of our peers a simple skill.  We have looked at how to engage an audience using various activities using the I Do, We Do, You Do format.  Some people have taught us how to make a paper plane or paper snowflake, some people have learnt to line dance or count to ten in a different language.

This week in Literacy we have been working on persuasive writing. We have discussed topics such as which is better the city or the country?, Should all families have a pet? And is vanilla better than chocolate ice cream? We have learnt how to up level our introductions and the importance of using supporting evidence and examples to back up our reasons.

Our year 3’s have also been working really hard in their NAPLAN tests – we are sure that they have given it their best shot.
