La Corse (Corsica)
Bonjour tout le monde,
J'espère que vous allez bien (I hope you are well).
Today we are visiting the French island of Corsica. It is nicknamed the Isle of Beauty for its sublime landscapes, from red cliffs plunging into turquoise waters, to stone villages clinging to mountains and dramatic gorges planted with chestnut trees. There are hidden coves, sandy beaches and craggy peninsulas... in Corsica, you can roam over 1,000 kilometres of coastline, which includes the iconic Scandola reserve, popular for scuba diving. The homeland of Napoleon is also a land of tradition and history. The local gastronomy is an important part of the area's appeal to tourists, whether it's cheese, charcuterie or chestnut specialities. Brocciu, coppa, figatelli, as well as polenta and fiadone, are a treat for visitors looking to sample the authentic flavours of the region.
In the following video, you will understand why it is such a fantastic destination:

Here is a video of the rehearsal:
Today's song is 'Catena' by Jennifer and the group I Chjami Aghjalesi. You will notice that it doesn't sound French.... it is in Corsican :-)
