Year Four Camp

This time two weeks ago, our Year Four students and myself were on camp at Camp Kookaburra in Corop. This three day, two night adventure was the very first camp for our four Year 4 students and they handled being away from home brilliantly. Being homesick was certainly not on the agenda as it was already filled with activities such as bush cooking, canoeing, indoor rock climbing, low ropes course, initiative activities, orienteering as well as a night bush walk and movie night. Our students attended camp with others from Goornong, Colbinabbin, Nanneella, Elmore and OLSH Primary Schools.

Pupil Free Day

A reminder that Monday September 12th is a Pupil Free Day.

Staff will be in attendance and use this day for and audit of our ICT files and for Term 4 Curriculum planning as well as a look into what exciting programs we will be offering in 2023!

Last Day of Term 3

Friday September 16th sees the end of Term 3. As per usual the students will be dismissed one hour earlier than normal, meaning the bus will make its' afternoon run at 2.20pm and we ask that non bus travellers also be picked up at this time.

On this day we are inviting our students (and staff) to come to school dressed in AFL attire or their favourite football team's colours. There will be some footy fun on this day for our students to enjoy.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish our students, their families and the staff of Raywood Primary School an enjoyable and safe holiday break. I am looking forward to seeing you all again in Term 4.

School Council News

School Council will meet this Monday (September 12th at 5.30pm). We will be completing our mandatory Child Safe update and reviewing new policies related to the Child Safe Standards. Once these policies have been approved, they will replace the existing ones on our school website. A reminder to all families and friends of Raywood Primary School that there is lots of information and photos on our newly revamped school website.

Our first meeting for Term 4  is to be held on Monday  October 24th  at 5.30pm.

Pie Warmer

Just a reminder to families that the pie warmer only operates in Terms 2 and 3 and therefore will not be an option after the holidays. Students are to resume bringing along food items that do no require heating up. We will make arrangements to host some special lunches during Term 4.

It was great to have such a positive response to us trailing a daily option of a heated lunch for Terms 2 and 3 and we will definitely be offering this again in 2023.

That's all for this week- Lisa Duffy
