BOOK WEEK, 2022

"Dreaming With Eyes Open"

Book Week was a roaring success this year with so many of our outstanding students dressing up and looking amazing! A big thank you to all parents, students and teachers who put in a massive effort into their costumes, activities and enthusiasm for all things reading!

BOOK WEEK PARADE

We started the morning off with our awesome Book Week Parade. Each class had chosen their own song to jam out to while they parade their costumes. It was fantastic to see so many different and unique costumes. A big thank you to all the parents who stayed to watch the parade.

PREPS

The Preps did an amazing display on the book 'Jetty Jumping' by Andrea Rowe. They used different blue water colours and created barnacles on their jetty. You can see all the fabulous faces of the preps as they jump off the jetty! The preps also had a very exciting visit from their Grade 5 buddies and did some reading and colouring.

JUNIORS

The Juniors completed their Book Week display based on the book 'What Do You Call Your Grandma?' by Ashleigh Barton. They brought in pictures of themselves with their grandparents and created a poster all about their heritage and what they call their grandparents. Such a gorgeous display of their families!

MIDDLES

The Middles created two different displays to represent their classes. Middle LT made their very own plant suitcases inspired by the book 'Amira's Suitcase' by Vikki Conley. Middle A decided to create a craft based on the theme 'Dreaming With Eyes Open' and created eye art pieces during art and beautiful dream catchers.

SENIORS

The Seniors created two different crafts as well! Senior L created a bird tree based on the book 'Book Of Curious Birds' by Jennifer Cossins. Senior B created beautiful tanzangle patterns on the map of Australia. This was based on the book 'Heroes, Rebels and Innovators' by Karen Wyldill.

The Seniors also participated in a Book Tasting! There were 9 stations where students were able to 'taste' different genres of books and read different shortlisted books from this year's CBCA awards. The students reviewed their books and some even found a new book to read during our reading rotations!
