SPaR   

Our next SPaR (Stop, Pray, Reflect) will be tomorrow  Friday 26th August, 2022 at 9am – the theme is ‘Shekinah - God who Dwells within. This SPaR will go for approximately 40 minutes and will be held at the Labyrinth at Centennial Park. It will be facilitated by theologian, accomplished author and wonderful storyteller, Monsignor Tony Doherty. HSC Prayer Packs 2022

This year the Botany Randwick Network have collaborated to prepare prayer packs for the HSC students at Marcellin, Champagnat, OLSH Kensington and Brigidine. Here at St Margaret Mary’s we will be preparing 22 HSC Prayer packs for the Year 12 students in Aquinas homeroom at Brigidine. The packs will consist of a card (decorated by the Pope Francis children at St Margaret Mary’s) with messages inside from our Year 6 students, a bookmark, a prayer stone decorated by our Year 5 students and a series of fun size snacks. Thanks to all the Year 6 children and their families who have already completed the cards and sent in treats. Please return these to your homeroom at your earliest. This is a valuable and important community initiative to help support our HSC students through their final year of schooling and their exam period.

Father’s Day Special - An Evening with Danny Abdallah

God’s Grace in my Life an Emmaus Experience - Friday 16th September, 2022

On Friday 16th September, 2022, the Family Educators across the Botany Randwick Network are hosting a day pilgrimage titled - God’s Grace in My Life, an Emmaus Experience. This event is open for all to participate in (details below). Be sure to register soon as places are limited. Child minding is also available for those who require this service while on pilgrimage.

St Margaret Mary’s Playgroup 

The St Margaret Mary’s Playgroup will run every Wednesday morning from 9am – 10:30am. If you have children starting at St Margaret Mary’s in 2023 or beyond, please join us. 

Calling all knitters or Sewers

Can you knit or sew? I have discovered a multitude of knitted squares in the Parish Centre and thought it would be a good idea to connect these to create a blanket for St Vincent de Paul. If you can (or even if you can’t and would like to try) sew or knit and could provide your expertise to connect the squares please contact me direct at lucille.gravina@syd.catholic.edu.au

Once the blanket(s) has/have been created I will contact St Vincent de Paul to collect together with the toiletry packs that have been so generously donated.

Friday Yoga with Trish at Centennial Park

Trish started off practicing pilates on and off for more than 10 years and in 2015 she found yoga. By the end of 2016 she became a certified yoga instructor. Trish noticed that there was an element of “je ne sais quoi” after practicing for several months that had to be experienced and felt, rather than explained. Trish really believes that elements of yoga practiced on the mat can also be used off the mat in our daily lives, and this is what she would like to share with everyone. So do come along and dedicate one hour to yourself. Deepening your awareness and appreciation of your body by connecting your mind to your breath and body.

When: Fridays after school drop-off
