Girls’ Programming Network Term 3 Workshop

The Girls’ Programming Network (GPN) is a program developed and run by girls and for girls. Managed by a group of female information technology (IT) students (both from the University of Melbourne and elsewhere), it’s for high school girls interested in IT, particularly those interested in learning to program or improving their software development skills.

 

This term we’ll be learning how real hackers can crack passwords and how we can make sure that we are keeping our passwords strong and secure. Whether you’re brand new to programming or have been coding for ever we’ll teach you everything you need to know to make this awesome project!

Whitehouse Institute of Design | Illustration and Portfolio Workshop

This introductory 1-hour workshop is for aspiring designers and recommended as a starting point for those wishing to develop their illustration skills and learn how to create a portfolio for application to the Bachelor of Design program. In this 1-hour workshop, you will gain an understanding of how to illustrate with Marker and Paper, experiment with different multi-media materials and learn techniques for presenting your creative ideas.

This workshop focuses on the following areas of skill development including:

  • Illustration techniques
  • Beginners portfolio development and learn how to present your work for application to the Bachelor of Design program.

JMC Academy | How to Podcast for High Schoolers – Melbourne

In this 1-day workshop, participants will learn how to develop, record and release their very own podcast and get a taste for the entertainment industry! Experiencing the hands on process of creating a podcast, participants will walk away with an understanding of:

  • Creating a podcast, from idea to distribution.
  • How to develop a creative concept.
  • Understand basic recording and editing techniques.
  • How to distribute via Podcatchers.
  • How to promote and market a podcast.

NIDA | Stage and Screen School, Melbourne
