9.1Instrumental Music Teachers

As a school specialising in music we have a large number of instrumental music teachers who work here some days and at other schools on other days. Each instrumental music teacher has a small classroom in which they teach their students who are withdrawn from class on a rotational basis one day a week. 

The instrumental staff are also involved with the performance program of the College which involves music groups which they take for rehearsals either before or after school and then arrange for them to have the opportunity to perform in public venues. 

9.2 Integration Aides

The College has obtained funding to employ a number of integration aides to assist students with special needs. Staff will be advised of the names of the students who have aides, and the reasons for these, early each term. Students on the integration program do not necessarily all have aides, but all are supported by a team of teachers, their parents and representatives of DOE who require teachers adapt work to meet the needs of the student.

Any teacher who believes that a student exhibits physical, emotional or intellectual difficulties that may make them eligible for integration help should advise the appropriate student manager as soon as possible. Staff can obtain copies of the guidelines for integration program eligibility from Kasi Bird. 

9.3 Visiting Teachers

Visiting Teachers visit the school to see students who have specific disabilities such as hearing loss. They monitor their performance and help them with specific learning problems. Usually, they visit each student for one lesson at a time. 

9.4 Education Support Officer

Our School Support is staffed by Banyule Network Services and they attend Macleod College for appointments only.  They can advise staff on matters relating to welfare and management and work closely with the Welfare team. Most of their time is spent seeing individual students, either for diagnostic testing relating to learning problems or counseling relating to behavior problems.

9.5 IT Manager

Simone Hale is the IT Manager and can assist with hardware and software issues. The technician working at the school is Ashley Flentjar (Wednesday – ½ day, Thursday & Friday), located in G Block and is available to troubleshoot issues and problem solve.
