Glen Eira School Engagement Programme

The School Engagement Programme is a programme to support different schools’ Civics and Citizenship curriculums. There are many different schools that participate in this and Glen Eira College is one of them. 

Different topics are chosen each term. This term’s topic was ‘Inclusion and Diversity in the Community’. We had the wonderful opportunity to learn about different disabilities from lived experience speakers and were given a task to come up with ways to become as inclusive of a school as possible. We researched and reviewed the school and started to come up with ideas about what we could do to improve it. Currently, we are in the beginning stages of implementing our idea and plan to have it implemented by early next year. 

Overall, it was a wonderful experience that we learnt a tremendous amount from and we are so grateful for having the opportunity to participate in it.

Genevieve (9E) and Audrey (7E) competed recently at the Judo Victoria Winter Tournament. Genevieve won gold and Audrey silver in their respective weight divisions. They also met Australian Judo athletes who competed at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Here are their pictures with Harry Cassar (bronze medalist). Congratulations Genevieve and Audrey!
