Our students competed against some tough athletes from around the Diocese. Everyone did a fantastic job both showing of their skills and sportsmanship in the track and field events. It was definitely a fast track on the day with most of our students running personal bests! Well done to all of our athletes, we're all so proud of how well St Philomena's performed and supported each other on the day!

The high morale of the St. Philomena's team was evident through quality sportsmanship, determination and energy.

A special mention to the following students who performed exceptionally well and have qualified to attend the NSWCCC Athletics Championships to be held on Monday 12 September at Sydney Olympic Park.

Kellam Joseph off to represent NSW in Rugby Union

Last week, Kellam Joseph travelled to Mudgee to compete at the NSWPSSA Rugby Union Championships representing the Armidale Diocese in the Polding Rugby Team. The Championships sees students from bush to beach competing over three massive days against the best rugby talent from across the state. Polding defeated Sydney North 26 - 10 to win the NSWPSSA Championships in an incredibly high quality match. Kellam was selected to represent NSW at the Interstate Exchange in October. Well done, Kellam!

Cricket NSW Visits St Philomena's

On Monday we were lucky enough to have Cricket NSW visit St Philomena's to run a series on fun cricket drills with students in Years 3 - 6. Stella Campbell (Sydney Sixers) and Lachie Shaw (NSW U19's), both representatives for cricket in NSW, ran a Q&A session followed by autograph signing with the students. Everyone had a lot of fun!
