Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 6!

Firstly, thank you to the members of the PTF and staff who volunteered last week at AgQuip. It was a great opportunity for our school community to volunteer with Droughtmaster on their barbeque site and meet a lovely group of people. Our Year 5 and 6 students will benefit from the generous donation made by Droughtmaster to the school, contributing to their upcoming excursion to Canberra.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting some Principal's from other schools in our Diocese and a member of the Catholic Schools Office leadership team as a part of our Principals Conference. The feedback from our visitors was very positive in terms of the calmness of our classrooms, what our students were learning through differentiated learning, the strategies our students were using to engage with individualised learning and the level of independence demonstrated by our students.

This Monday will see the commencement of Book Week 2022. The theme for this year is Dreaming With Eyes Open. Book Week is a fantastic event that promotes the joy reading can bring to all children. We will be hosting our Book Week parade this Thursday at 9am. All students can dress up as their favourite book character and all are welcome to attend the parade.

Our kindergarten transition is continuing this week for students commencing kinder in 2023. If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten for 2023 or any other year group, please encourage them to contact me at school.

And Lastly, we would like to wish a very happy birthday to Lexie who will turn 11 on the 25th August.

Take care

Kath Baird

Principal

PS (from the rest of the staff members and our school community) HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the Saturday 27th to our principal Kath Baird.  We hope you have a wonderful day!
