Associate Principal, Operations Report

Academic Assistance

Please note there will be NO Academic Assistance available in the library or at the Refectory on the first day of term, Monday 7 October.  Staff will; be present at Student/Parent/Teacher Meetings on this evening.

For Academic Assistance in the Library, commencing on Tuesday 8 October, I remind students and parents of the expectations:

The Library is open, and staffed by a teacher every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening from 3.45 to 5.45pm.

Other members of the teaching staff frequently drop in also and provide further assistance.

Students in Years 7-12 are welcome to make use of this service and to sign in on arrival.

It is expected that they will stay for the whole time (boarders are collected at 5.30pm) unless they are being collected early or have other commitments.

A number of students manage an hour’s study prior to basketball practice or some other commitment.

Similarly, students are expected to arrive at the commencement of the study time.  This is not a “drop in/drop out” service so students are expected to arrive by 3.45 and to settle to work quickly.

Once more, we ask students to sign out when they leave.

With examinations approaching, no doubt there will be good numbers in attendance again next term.
