Like a bridge over troubled waters

Marilyn’s article in last week’s Arlington newsletter discussed the timely and important subject of the relationship between physical health and wellbeing. Personally, while I previously considered running as being a kind of hell on earth, I have been forcing myself to get out for a jog. My brother roped me into going on the Sprint Series Adventure Race in October, and while this terrifies me, I am reluctantly admitting that the training is helping me to be a happier, more fulfilled and more productive person.

Assessment and reporting during distance learning

In a world of changing circumstances, it is good to know that some things remain the same. We are incredibly fortunate to be using the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, rather than adhering to a rigid and content-based curriculum as in so many schools. These programmes assess according to criteria that can be adapted to any condition, and our teachers are working to change assessments to allow students to succeed and have a true measure of their achievements under the new situation.

This means that, while assessments have been modified to facilitate student engagement, our semester reports will include the same  descriptions and summaries of student learning that have always been delivered. They will also be sent in the same time frame as previously expected.

It’s nice to have at least one thing remain unchanged!

Questions for the MYP/DP Information Evening

With the new versions of our MYP and DP Information Evening (Online Edition), we are seeking ways to engage with our audience. If you have any questions that you would like our knowledgeable and experienced Coordinators to tackle, you can email them through to me and we will facilitate a Q&A. Please use this as an opportunity to demonstrate your courage to question!
