Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a glorious rainy day we seem to be having, hopefully, the rain will continue to fall into the weekend.

Thank you to all of the parents and caregivers who requested a Parent-Teacher Conference. It was a pleasure to speak with parents as they went into these interviews. Our students have performed extremely well throughout the year and it was wonderful to celebrate this.

As a school, it has been heartening to see students achieving success amongst a sense of chaos that has gone around them this year. With Victorian students all remotely learning for the remainder of this term, it is a reminder that we need to not become complacent regarding the procedures we have in place to live through this pandemic. As a school leader, it has been reassuring to see parents understanding the need to keep children home when they are displaying cold and flu symptoms. I know that this can be difficult, but the sacrifices that you are going through will help to protect us all at school.

There are constant changes and modifications to the requirements that allow us to operate as a school. With any changes, I will endeavour to send these out as soon as practical. Next week there will be a positive change in our canteen. We will be offering a wider variety of options for lunchtime. This is due to us being able to have registered volunteers onsite for short periods of time. Therefore from next Wednesday, we will have an updated lunchtime menu. If you would like to volunteer in our school’s canteen, please give the office a call. There is some information that we will need to gather from you first.

Kindergarten 2021 Enrolments:

If you have a child who will be attending St Joseph’s Primary School in 2021, can you please send in your enrolment forms as soon as possible. We need to utilise these numbers to plan our procedures and staffing for 2021. If you know anyone in the community with school-age children, in kindergarten or other year levels, and they are considering St Joseph’s as a school, please ask them to contact the office or see our webpage or Facebook page for more information regarding enrolling at our school.

Regards,
