Swimming R-6

Swimming lessons are happening next week (week 7) for Reception to Year 6 (Monday to Friday). As always it is an educational and exciting experience for our students.  We will be heading to the  Adelaide Aquatic Centre, North Adelaide.

Swimming lessons are a compulsory part of the Australian Curriculum with a focus on building confidence, water safety skills and stroke development. It is imperative that students attend and complete swimming lessons in preparation for aquatics in Year 7, and as a life long safety skill.

A medical certificate must be produced and an exemption form completed if your child is unable to attend lessons.

Parents are encouraged to take note of the following information:

  • Take note of bus departure times – late arrivals will require parent/caregiver to transport directly to the pool.
  • Swimming/Aquatic Consent Form must be returned to the class teacher as soon as possible.  With Medical Plans if required
  • Payment must be made to the school by Wednesday 28th August. Today!!

The Adelaide Aquatic Centre has advised that NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND DURING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS.

Premiers Be Active Challenge

Children at Lockleys North Primary School have been busy keeping physically active in this uncertain time, participating in school events such as Virtual Cross Country and resuming after school sport whether it be competitive, social or for leisure. Congratulations to all the students who have returned their PBAC booklets to school.

The Challenge

The challenge is to participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week for at least 4 weeks. After 4 weeks of daily recorded physical activity children will receive a medal. Simply record your progress on the booklet provided, sign and return your registration form to the front office.

A friendly reminder that Premier's Be Active Challenge record booklets are due in less than 4 weeks, no later than Monday 21st September (Week 10) .

Congratulations to all the students who have already returned them. There is still time to complete the challenge, don't miss out!

Students will not receive a medal if booklets are received after this date.

My name is Steele I am 7 years old & the youngest of 4 children. I am raising money to support my friend we call “Nugget” in his battle with leukaemia. I am getting my principal from school to shave my head at assembly on September the 11th so I can have a matching haircut with Nugget and so he doesn’t feel like he is doing this alone.

Well done Steele!
