Education Perfect

Humanities Championships

While 2020 has been a challenging year for so many reasons, the Year 7 students threw themselves into the Education Perfect Humanities Championships and achieved some excellent results!

The competition was open to all schools using Education Perfect as a learning tool in their Humanities classes, similar to the Languages competition that the College traditionally does so well in.

Students are able to answer questions from the four disciplines of Humanities: Economics, Geography, History and Social Sciences. Our students answered over 51,000 questions, earned over 25,000 points and spent approximately 148 hours learning during the week of the competition. Globally we achieved a ranking of 27th, 19th in Australia and placed 7th for all of Victoria. Considering there are schools with three times the number of students enrolled, that is a great achievement!

The following students achieved certificates for their achievements:

Students who achieve a credit, or above, are automatically entered into a prize draw and Ella Kelly (Year 7) won a prize for her Silver achievement.

We congratulate all of the students who participated in the competition and encourage more students to join in the fun next year. Certificates and prizes will be given to students when possible.

I would particularly like to congratulate Ms Cate Jacka who encouraged the students to get so involved with this competition and was so enthusiastic about the work done by her students.
