Media

Since returning to the classroom in Semester 2, the Unit 2 Media students have been busy working as media producers, researching and developing content for their next task. The inspiration of the content comes from the technological changes we have seen in media technology over the past 2 to 3 decades.

I often use the phone as an example of how fast technology has changed in our society. It does not feel that long ago when a phone functioned solely as a phone.  The dramatic changes to a telephones function has been witnessed in my lifetime.  What is history to some is just childhood experiences to others.

To demonstrate understanding of how such technological changes have affected our society, students have been asked to choose one area to investigate.  Some of the students have chosen to interview family members to help them put into perspective how these technological changes have affected them on an individual basis and within our communities.  Students will present their research using new media technologies, translating their hard research into an entertaining podcast or a 'zine' is their challenge.
