VCE DRAMA ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE

CLIMATE CHALLENGE

Early in Term 3, the VCE Drama class performed their devised, ensemble piece, Climate Challenge.  This outcome is usually performed to a much larger audience of family, friends and staff in Term 2. However, it was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The performance followed the journey of a group of students who travel through history exploring the causes and effects of climate change and the impending crisis for the planet.  They come to the realisation that time is running out and the world must work together if the planet is to be saved from extinction.

This task required students to cover extensive criteria in a particular performance style and follow a play-making process that included researching, brainstorming, improvising, scripting, editing, refining and rehearsing.

The students’ work was of an extremely high standard due to their dedication to the task and many hours of rehearsal.  The performance was thought provoking, engaging and entertaining.

Congratulations to our VCE Drama students for their excellent work and commitment to this task under challenging conditions.
