From the Chaplain

Rev Dr Rosalie Clarke

Greetings to all KWS families

The Christmas season is upon us, and we are preparing for the birth of Jesus. Within our Christian tradition, Jesus is the hope and saviour of the world – the presence of God here in our midst. As we wait during Advent, we remember the specific gifts of hope, joy, peace, and love.

These are gifts – because they are something we receive and something which we give. The gifts of hope, joy, peace, and love are such meaningful attributes in our lives. They tangibly change the quality of our experience, and yet they are not gifts we can wrap and put under the Christmas tree. There is no formula to them that we can capture and replicate, however, they are gifts which we can nurture within ourselves and within our communities. They are as unique to all of us as we are unique individuals.

Hope, joy, peace, and love are in much demand as we contemplate the world around us, and indeed the challenges within our own region.

I pray that each one of you can recognise these gifts within you, that you can sense the joy of the season and the celebration of a God who came to live amongst us, in our broken and bruised world.

May God be with you and yours as we wait, and as you share these gifts with the world.
