  • Volleyball B Boys against Oakleigh: Kilvington won 3 sets to 1

Here are some write-ups of the events from our coaches.

BADMINTON A TEAM RESULTS

Nic Troitzky, P.E Teacher and Timetable Coordinator

After a very successful regular season where our mixed Badminton A team lost only to Knox Grammar, it was unsurprising that we met them again in the Grand Final! Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to beat the favourites this time, losing 10 games to 2.

However,  we did learn what it takes to become badminton champions and are already looking to training for the 2024 season! Well done to all players for their commitment and passion, and congratulations to Matt Yang for being chosen as MVP for Kilvington Grammar.

VOLLEYBALL GIRLS GOLD TEAM RESULTS

Millie Pummeroy, Sports Coach

The Kilvington Girls Gold team played their hardest this Wednesday. Starting off losing the first two sets, they pushed to win the following two, leaving the final result up to the last set.

In the end, the girls lost to Oakleigh Grammar, who won 3 sets to Kilvington’s 2.

Congratulations to Zaiya who was awarded MVP for her serving accuracy and also Amber and Saige for their defensive efforts.

NETBALL GIRLS A TEAM RESULTS

Emma Hedger, P.E and Classroom Teacher

Well done to the Senior Netball Girls A team for winning their Grand Final against Kingswood College. The girls were nervous heading into the clash, as we'd won by only a couple of goals in our last game against Kingswood.  It was a goal-for-goal game, until halfway into the third quarter, where we were able to break away and win by 14 goals.

It was so impressive to see the students keep their heads up and persevere through the game. They applied pressure to every ball, consistently implemented coaching points, and continually had second efforts to the ball.  A particular standout was their consistent encouragement of their teammates. A special mention to the opposition chosen MVP, Scarlett Robison. A huge congratulations to all the girls.

 NETBALL BOYS A TEAM RESULTS

Jason Moloney, P.E. Teacher and Dean of Wellbeing-Year 9

On Wednesday this week, the undefeated Senior Boys Netball A Team travelled to Knox Grammar for the highly anticipated Grand Final. After a fast-paced and at times frenetic opening half, Kilvington went into the main break with a one goal lead.

The third quarter was no different, however with goal shooters Ben Molloy and Marcel Krivonos getting on top, Kilvington stretched their lead to three with a quarter to play. The final quarter saw the boys play some scintillating team netball that was unable to be matched by Knox.

Chester Webb was rock solid in defence and was a springboard for numerous attacks that saw the lead blow out to nine when the final siren was blown. A fantastic result for a team that is now undefeated across the last two seasons of EISM Netball.
