Parents and Friends’ Association

Parents and Friends is a sub-committee of School Council and is made up of a very welcoming group of volunteer parents who play an important role in promoting Woodend Primary School and welcoming new families to our school. The parents also play an essential role in assisting with school programs and fundraising activities. Meetings are held once each month and a report of items discussed and planned is presented to School Council. Parents/Carers are welcome to join the PFA meetings at any stage throughout the year, and there will be opportunities to volunteer for a specific events also. Joining the PFA is a great way to meet people and get involved at our school! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing some new faces in 2023.

The first PFA meeting will be held on February 7th at 7.45pm in Woodend. Please email wpspfa@gmail.com if you would like to join us. We will be planning social and fundraising events for the year ahead, all suggestions welcome. The second meeting will be the AGM, at which all office bearer positions will be declared vacant, and new members elected. This will be held in the school staff room.

End of Term Picnic

Thank you to everyone who gathered on the oval on the last day of Term. It was great to see so many families enjoying the best of Woodend’s sunshine, the children playing happily and eating ice creams!

Parent Class Contact Lists

Thank you to everyone who has joined our Class Contact List and WhatsApp groups. These groups provide a wonderful way for the school families to connect and support each other, as well as providing an important communication avenue between the school, teachers and the PFA. A big thank you to our 19 Class Reps for volunteering their time this year!

We’d encourage all families to opt-in to their class group, by joining via the Google Form. You can find the link in the “Message from your Class Representative" (sent on Compass prior to school starting).
